Paul David Harkrider

Paul Harkrider, born January 6, 1959, in Paris, Texas, passed away surrounded by family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Elaine Harkrider. Paul is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jana Jo; his sons Ross (Laura), JD (Casey), and Conrad (Jessica); ten beloved grandchildren; his sister Wendy; his brother John (Jenell); and his uncle Robert (Arline).

Paul grew up in Texas and Colorado, graduating from Cherry Creek High School before attending Florida College on a baseball scholarship, where he met Jana, the love of his life. A lifelong athlete and coach, Paul devoted countless hours to mentoring young people, including his three sons, teaching lessons in hard work, teamwork, and character.

Paul’s faith guided every part of his life. He modeled generosity through quiet acts of kindness, often paying for others’ meals without recognition. In later years, he faced Multiple Sclerosis with grace, becoming “Pops” to his grandchildren, who adored him. He never lost his smile, his humor, or his love for watching “his kids,” who he’d insist were the best on the field.

Jana faithfully cared for Paul in his final years, and the family takes comfort knowing he is now at peace with the Lord.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Selections, supporting Christian families in adoption—an effort close to Paul’s heart.
