Virgnia Estes Evans

Virginia Margaret Estes Evans, 99, recently of Columbus, Mississippi, died peacefully in her sleep at home on Sept. 22, 2019.

She was born in Portland, Oregon on April 19, 1920 to Charles Kenneth and Mary Margaret (Mallard) Flinn. She grew up in Portland and southern California, and graduated from Eagle Rock High School in Los Angeles.

She is preceded in death by husbands Gilbert Eugene Estes and Dell Evans, son Maurice Wesley Estes, and sister Patricia Beck. She is survived by daughter Sandra Lee (Estes) Collins, granddaughters Kellie (Malcolm) Collins Franklin and Keri (Mark) Collins Lewis, great-grandsons Joshua and Noah Franklin, as well as many other family members, friends, and caregivers who will miss her.

She was a faithful Christian known for her hospitality and service to others. A service will be Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. at Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home in Paso Robles, California. In lieu of flowers, please take a meal to someone in need, visit an elderly person, or donate to Sacred Selections which helps fund adoptions.
