Sand & Stars

Like each grain of sand and each star in the sky, each gift to the Sand & Stars Endowment Fund ensures the future of Sacred Selections and sets us up to continue to hold to one of our core principles: the cost of administrative expenses will never come out of funds donated to support adoptive families.

The Scripture is rich with imagery that God uses to describe how He works, and how He uses His people to accomplish His goals. Two of these images are present in the story of Abraham and Sarah. In the context of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice Isaac, God promises that the descendants of Abraham will be like the sand on the shore and like the stars in the sky. From two people and their willingness to follow God’s direction, He was able to bring innumerable blessings to the world.

Similarly, God uses His people now to bring blessing to the world in so many ways. One of the ways that God’s people accomplish His kingdom work is by supporting the vulnerable. When you donate to Sacred Selections, you are contributing to the blessing of helping a vulnerable child land softly in a Godly home. That’s not the only way you can help and contribute, though.

There are other ways to pitch in on this kingdom work. The work of caring for the vulnerable needs constant prayer. There are fundraisers to help organize. Families need help and support while they wait and once they bring their children home. Getting the word out about the good work we do is invaluable.

Today we’d like to introduce you to a new way that you can participate in the good kingdom work that Sacred Selections is doing. For the first time in its history Sacred Selections has full time employees. As David and Dana step back from day to day operations and enjoy their well-deserved retirement, a new team has taken up the work of keeping Sacred Selections running smoothly every day.

We’re determined to keep donations from individuals and net proceeds from events going entirely to adoption expenses, as they always have. Because of that, we’ve begun a separate campaign to fund an endowment for Sacred Selections’ administrative expenses. The interest generated by the endowment account will cover expenses like salaries and other administrative expenses, and that will ensure the future success of Sacred Selections for many years to come.

Can you help? Just as each grain of sand and each star in the sky seems insignificant by itself, when combined with all the others they are a great testament to God’s mighty work. When you contribute to the Sand & Stars endowment campaign, you are working together with countless others to ensure the future success of Sacred Selections.
