Beverly “Bev” Lynn (Fouts) Laughlin, 80, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Franciscan Health Hospital in Lafayette. She was born on April 29, 1946 in Crawfordsville to the late Don Edwin and Bettye Nell (Baker) Fouts.
Bev was a 1964 graduate of Coal Creek High School. She was married to Michael Laughlin on June 11, 1966 at Liberty Chapel in Crawfordsville, and he survives. They were active members of Lafayette Church of Christ.
Bev spent most of her time raising her family, but worked for ten years for Purdue University Center for Instructional Services (CIS). She was also very active in 4H and her church community, and volunteered for CASA. She also was a very gifted singer, and sang for several years with Bach Chorale. She enjoyed traveling anywhere in the world. More than anything, Bev was very family-oriented, and cherished the time that was spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. By far, the most important thing in her life was her enduring faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. She has handed down that faith to her husband, her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her active faith has influenced many across this great nation through her life and in the creation of the “Ladies’ Getaway”, which lasted 27 years.
In addition to her loving husband, Michael Laughlin, Bev is survived by her children, Craig Laughlin, Stacy (Brett) Hancock, and Abe (Heather) Laughlin; brothers, Lee (Becky) Fouts and R.B. (Kimberly) Fouts; sister, Donna (Roger) Campbell; grandchildren, Brianne Walker, Brooke Shutt, Sydney Laughlin, Briley Roy, Trent Laughlin, Bralynn Haley, Jensen Laughlin, Ellie Laughlin, and Oliver Laughlin; and great grandchildren, Rosie and Macy Walker, Alice and Zoe Shutt, and Kaia Roy.
In addition to her parents, Bev was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucia Rundell and Mary Haffner.
Visitation will be held at Hippensteel Funeral Home on Monday, August 3rd from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11, with Minister Alan Yeater officiating. Bev will then be laid to rest at Spring Vale Cemetery.
