Paula K. (Berkley) Dunn, was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas on November 12th, 1952, and ended her earthly journey to be with the Lord, Sept. 7th, 2024. She was raised in Ft. Smith, Arkansas and then lived in Greenwood, Arkansas until her passing.
She was a graduate of Northside High School, Ft. Smith, Arkansas, class of 1970. She earned her associates degree from University of Arkansas Ft. Smith (formerly Westark); her bachelors degree from Arkansas Tech (1988); her masters degree in Education from Arkansas Tech (2005). She was employed by Happy Day Childcare, then 28 years with the Ft. Smith Public Schools, serving in various positions from instruction, technology, library science, instruction for the blind and other areas of instructional service. She was awarded Teacher of the Year at Euper Lane (2005-2006) and the Great Expectations of Arkansas Teachers’ Council Award for 2002.
She was a member of the Northside Church of Christ in Greenwood, Arkansas, involved in children’s Bible instruction and taught the Ladies’ Bible Class for many years.
Paula was preceded in death by her father, Northum Berkley; her mother, Olive Berkley Woodbridge, an infant sibling Rebecca Berkley, and her beloved son, Nathan Dunn. Paula is survived by her husband, Bill Dunn; her sister, Lisa Berkley Boyd (Dave); and her brother, Warren E. Berkley (Paula). She is also survived by her cousin, Lawana Long, of McAlister, Oklahoma and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. The family expresses their special gratitude to her friend, Carolyn Alverson of Greenwood and her sister-in-law, Linda Dunn Brammer of Springfield, Missouri. Likewise, we are thankful to Mercy Rehab and Hospice.Â
Celebration of Life will be at Edwards Funeral Home, Ft. Smith, at 1 pm September 14. Visitation September 13 from 5-7 pm at that location. Todd Hales and Warren Berkley will speak; Todd Dennis will lead singing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Sacred Selections.
