Administrative and Operational Costs

Corporate Sponsors

Administrative and operational costs of running the foundation were initially covered by the board members, who also volunteered their time running and overseeing the foundation’s work. Since then, things have grown… significantly.

Several years ago, the board realized funding the foundation out of our own pockets just wasn’t sustainable and yet we didn’t want to change our commitment to the donors who valued and trusted that 100% of all their funds would go exclusively to adoption costs.

Why Corporate Sponsorship is so important

We decided to reach out to some of our brothers and sisters that owned and operated their own businesses and asked for strategic financial support. Strategic in the sense that not only did they agree to financially support our mission of caring for the fatherless through adoption, but they gave us permission to use their donations to cover our administrative-operational costs. This was HUGE! And for the past several years we have had seven Christian owned businesses provide for our annual operating budget. Their generosity ensures that you (our general donor audience) generosity goes entirely towards the costs of finding a home for a fatherless child.

Since 2006, the year we began this work, our admin-operational budget has not exceeded four percent (4%) of our gross revenues. The main reason for this is because we have no paid employees, and we do not have any official office space. Both represent major expense categories in any organization. However, as time goes by and the complexity of this work expands, in scope and scale, we are anticipating the need for additional revenue sources to continue this work.

We are looking for more Christians who own a business or have owned a business and can afford to support the operational costs of our mission annually between $3,000 to $5,000. If you’re interested in learning more and investing in the kingdom work, contact us.

Independent Oversight

Corporate/Business Donors-Sponsors also provide a level of independent oversight of how Sacred Selections operates. This is accomplished in a variety of ways.

Business Advisory Board

Up to twenty individuals that are Corporate Donors are also invited to serve 2-3 year terms on our Business Advisory Board (BAB). This board meets at least once each year and is presented with an annual “State of the Foundation” report including Financial Statements, Operating Budget and a statement from the foundation president (and Corporate Board) on the status and activities of this Adoption Mission work.

Financial Directive

The BAB doesn’t make or change foundation-corporate policy, but they do control a major aspect of our operating budget. If the BAB (members) see unwise business practices, un-Biblical stewardship practices or a drift from our core mission they can influence steps in a wrong direction by withholding their financial support. In essence the BAB provides independent-third party oversight on how Sacred Selections is run. The BAB provides assurance to our general donor constituents that we are doing “honorable things, in honorable ways, in the sight of God and man.”

A Biblical Precedent

There are many New Testament examples of individuals who supported the ministry and travels of Jesus, the apostles and the work of disciples that followed His way over time. Your support in this work of caring for the fatherless not only reflects a spirit of generosity but a gift of wisdom and insight. It represents an opportunity to put the blessings of prosperity together with the talents of business acumen (discernment) into the “Lord’s work” like we do for our own work.

Become a Corporate Sponsor

The discussions and communications we have with the Business Advisory Board members represent the best of two worlds: the business world and Kingdom work. We encourage you, as a Christian business owner to consider this opportunity to use your resources, your talents and your passion for serving others through the work of adoption and become one of our Corporate Donors.

How Sacred Selections Uses Funds

Our Use of Funds

Sacred Selections commits to using individual donations and net fundraising proceeds 100 % for covering adoption costs. Nothing else is taken from these donations for other purposes.

Adopting families DO NOT receive funds from Sacred Selections. The adoption costs that are covered are paid directly to the agencies, attorneys or the other entities involved with the adoption expenses.

Sacred Selections covers: adoption agency fees, adoption attorney fees, required social worker or birthmother counseling fees, legally allowed birthmother support costs pre and post placement and international travel fees. We do not cover domestic travel expenses.

Providing honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

1 Corinthians 8:21
