Eric Paige

Eric Kevin Paige of Cumming, Georgia passed from life on Sunday, October 29, 2023. After a lengthy health battle, he peacefully entered his heavenly reward with family at his side. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Eric is deeply missed but we rejoice that he is with his Lord and King and at peace.

Eric loved his family deeply. He was known to call his wife, Lynn, a virtuous woman and to thank God for her. He was her rock, and also praised her for her strength and care – both as they walked through trials together and as she cared for him in his periods of illness. As a son, he was a help and support to his mother. His children grew up in the security and comfort of knowing his love to be constant. He was a ready source for advice and perspective on everything from a funny sound in the car to serious spiritual matters. His son-in-law was welcomed into the family as his own child and the two shared a mutual respect and care for each other. To his grandkids, Eric was Granddaddy – especially loved as the giver of tractor rides…and the giver of just about anything they asked if he could manage it.

Having made his home in several states throughout his adult life, Eric has friends and family across the country and made an impact on all who knew him. Notably, he is remembered as a counselor at FC Texas Junior Camp, as the one to call with questions about the car or how to fix something in your home, as a song leader, and as the one who always had a comforting hug. He loved a good DIY project and was always ready to put his skills to work to serve his family or friends, even if it meant loading a truck full of tools to haul halfway across the country to his daughter and son-in-law’s home. Eric was strong and active, and also incredibly compassionate. He and Lynn loved to have friends over in small or large groups for teen devos, game nights, group meetings, and more.

As an involved member in churches throughout his life, Eric has consistently served as a song leader and enjoyed opportunities to preach. He especially enjoyed teaching bible classes for high school aged kids. Within his church family, he could be called on to help with projects around the house and enjoyed any opportunity to teach the young men how to fix their cars or use a tool.

Eric’s career and one of his passions was Mercedes Benz. While working as a technician, he attended training hosted by Mercedes Benz USA and eventually became one of those trainers. This awoke in him a love for teaching and his career path led him to work with multiple programs, eventually serving as the Lead Technician for Development and Curriculum Design at the MBUSA headquarters in Georgia.

Eric is preceded by his father, Lester Paige, and his son, Kevin Paige. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Paige of Cumming; his mother Edna Paige of Fort Worth, Texas; and his daughter, Ellen Vaughn of Arlington, Texas. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Josh Vaughn; and grandchildren Bennett, Olsen, and Laurel Vaughn. Eric is lovingly remembered by many siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. A visitation will be held at McDonald and Son Funeral Home on Monday, November 6th beginning at 2:00PM with a memorial service following at 4:00PM.
