A Season for Thanks & Giving

Remembering our blessings and forwarding them to children in need.

Through the rush of the holiday season, family time and shared meals remind us to take time to slow down and consider our blessings. As the weather gets colder and daylight gets shorter, winter months are a great time to get cozy and reflect on the wonderful blessings we all cherish.

We are overwhelmed with physical blessings! The modern era primarily consists of comfortable homes, more than enough food, and relative comfort and safety. It’s easy to take our physical blessings for granted, but they are truly a gift from God.

We are blessed with our families. The season is usually jam packed with opportunities to spend time with family, sharing time and meals and gifts. Holidays can be especially poignant when we consider loved ones who’ve passed from our lives. Sometimes we’ll set a special place at the table or remember those loved ones in some other way.

We are covered in spiritual blessings. Physical blessings are important and visible, but even more than that, Ephesians 1:3 reminds us that God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. We are blessed to know the gospel and to have full access to salvation through Christ. We have the benefit of a spiritual family who loves us and helps us through life’s difficulties.

As we reflect on our blessings with gratitude through this holiday season, many of us look for ways to help others. Interest in volunteering opportunities increases exponentially during the holidays. Part of this culture is shown in the tradition of participating in Giving Tuesday – a special nationwide day of monetary giving on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Here at Sacred Selections, we are taking advantage of this day to be thankful for you and your generous giving throughout 2025.

So many of the vulnerable children served by Sacred Selections need these blessings we enjoy in such abundance. They may not have a stable family situation, consistent housing, or food security. They may not presently be in a home that teaches them about God’s love and salvation. Your giving has brought these blessings to over 40 children so far this year! Follow along on Facebook or Instagram in the coming weeks to learn about two families who have been recipients of your generosity in 2025.

At each fall fundraiser, we’ve had the support to match donations and can offer the same for Giving Tuesday, making your gift go even further. For those of you who haven’t been able to attend a local fundraiser this year, we hope you will consider this your opportunity to join us in getting To The Work of supporting vulnerable children and families!

With thanks for you, your prayers, and your support,

Happy Thanksgiving
