Amos Davenport

Amos Davenport March 21, 1925 to March 3, 2013 Sacred Selections funded the adoption of Jordan and McKenzie Davenport in 2010.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to be sent to Sacred Selections.  This will allow other grandfathers to enjoy the blessing of the kind of family celebrations like the ones we have been able to enjoy with these precious children.

Michael & Heather

We are Michael and Heather and we adopted two beautiful children from Ethiopia in August 2011. We began our journey to adopt a baby girl, but soon fell in love with a picture of a little four year-old boy that had been at the orphanage for a long time. We could not stop thinking about him and tried to figure out how we could afford to adopt both children. We knew there would be extra medical bills and surgery for our little boy when he was…

I feel very blessed that Christians gave us the contact information about Sacred Selections.  We had not heard of the foundation until a preacher asked us if we knew about it when he held a gospel meeting for our congregation during our adoption process for Alex. It has amazed me how it has affected so many people. The connections we have made will be lifelong, and eternal. Of course, the foundation helped us financially with a grant that helped secure…

We were inspired to be foster parents by the example of fellow Christians.  Within a couple of weeks the stork delivered Isaiah to our doorstep straight from the hospital. It was a love affair from the beginning. Though it seemed like he was always a permanent part of the family his name now reflects it! Thanks to Sacred Selections, without the pressing financial concerns that typically accompany adoption we have been able to focus on serving the fatherless. Since our…

Our journey towards adoption actually began almost ten years ago. From the day we became husband and wife, we have always wanted to raise godly children in a Christian home. Our plan was to have two children naturally and then adopt a child one day from Korea. However, after seven years of marriage and then two years of trying to conceive, we quickly realized what most of us forget, is that our plan is not always God’s plan. After a…

The blessings we have received from Sacred Selections are too innumerable to name. Well, actually, I can name them- Gideon, Charlotte, Atticus, Bronwyn and Leo! These five amazing children are now home, in our family where they belong because of the love of God’s people and their generous donations to Sacred Selections. When we started our first international adoption back in 2010, we had precious little time to travel to China and get our son Gideon before he aged out…

Justin & Jennifer

In February 2007 Justin and Jennifer signed up for a foster to adopt program with their local department of social services. After five months of classroom training, interviews, house inspections, and a good deal of paperwork, they were off to a good start! Just seven weeks after becoming homestudy approved, a sister in Christ told them about a private adoption situation. Jennifer emailed the Birth Mother and a match was made within a couple of days! A few weeks later,…

Sometimes we think we know what the plan should be, but thanks be to God that He is in control.  We thought the plan was for us to try fertility treatments in order for us to have a baby after it was determined it would be difficult for us to conceive.  After four years and one miscarriage we prayed fervently for God to reveal His plan of how we would start a family.  The door toward adoption opened wide! When…

Ethan & Sarah

Both of us have been touched by adoption in our extended families, so we planned to adopt before we even married. After having three children relatively early in our marriage we knew that we wanted to add to our family through adoption. We first looked into foster-adoption and completed our home study through our county, but nothing panned out in that direction. We applied for a grant from Sacred Selections knowing that we would never be able to afford the…

We tried to adopt domestically and knew there was a strong need for adoptive families for AA and bi-racial children. Often times the agencies ran out of families to present to these Birth Mothers. However, time after time we were told that the birth mother wanted someone without children. We eventually decided to adopt internationally and found that Ethiopia had a strong need for adoptive families as well. Once our paperwork was completed (which took about 3 months) we waited…

Scott & Sarah

We know that God’s hand was with us during our entire adoption process. After being unable to conceive a second child we knew that adoption was what we were being called to do. We didn’t want to go through lengthy and expensive fertility treatments when so many children are in need of loving Christian homes. Unfortunately, at first, we felt that adoption was cost prohibitive for us. Being a family with one income (Sarah is a stay-at-home mom) we didn’t…

Jonathan & Trisha

Since the time I was a little girl I have longed to have a family. All my life when someone asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, the answer was always that I wanted to be a Mama. My Mama loved being a Mama and made it seem like the best “job” in the world. She and my Daddy had seven biological children before becoming Foster Parents and adopting four more. Mothering is in my blood! Jonathan…

We are a Sacred Selections family times three! God blessed us six years ago when we first learned about the mission of Sacred Selections. We were just starting the adoption process and were not at all sure how we would afford to adopt a child. Through a friend, we got in contact with David and Dana Carrozza. Dana talked us through our options, shared her experiences in helping others and prayed with us. Soon we were awarded a grant from…

Sacred Selections has changed our life by making us a family. Jennifer and I were a couple and now we are family with Alex.  Alexander John Bowman was born on July 30th 2009 and our life changed so much for the better. He brings joy to us everyday.  He has been a blessing from God, not just for us, but for his grandparents as well. We love Alex more than we can describe in words, and we owe all that…

It’s a classic story really, boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, boy and girl get married and dream of a future with a big family and lots of kids!  But girl has issues and they find out that she may never be able to have a baby.  So they pray and cry and pray and cry….and years go by.  Finally one day their prayers are answered and they are able to adopt a beautiful teenie tiny 3…

Sacred Selections played a huge part in our adoption story. As Christians, we know what God did to adopt us – He planned our adoption from before time, worked an adoption plan throughout history and then sacrificed His only begotten Son so that we could be His children. God fervently wants to grow His family and so do we. We have always felt that being parents was a vital role that God had for us and that was our dream…

Ben & Jennifer

As a young married couple, the costs of adoption were daunting to Ben and Jennifer Tarmann.  Even after making drastic changes in their lives to save money, the expected costs of $20,000 were simply not within reach.  With a grant from Sacred Selections, Ben and Jennifer were able to adopt their precious Joselyn in 2009.  They are so thankful for the overwhelming generosity of Christians who donated to Sacred Selections. Now, Joselyn is 3 1/2.  She is a fantastically happy…

A few years into our marriage, our thoughts turned to having children.  We always planned to adopt, but thought to have biological children, too.  After multiple miscarriages, we knew God had different plans for us.  First He blessed us with our sweet Faye, whom we adopted as a baby.  A few years later, we wanted to adopt again, but fertility treatments and our first adoption had take a toll.  Bringing home another baby was great financial concern for us.  Then…
