We are Michael and Heather and we adopted two beautiful children from Ethiopia in August 2011. We began our journey to adopt a baby girl, but soon fell in love with a picture of a little four year-old boy that had been at the orphanage for a long time. We could not stop thinking about him and tried to figure out how we could afford to adopt both children. We knew there would be extra medical bills and surgery for our little boy when he was home. We prayed to God and decided to put our faith in Him. A week after we agreed to adopt both kids, we received an incredible phone call from Sacred Selections and they offered a grant to help with the adoption expenses. We were overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of Dana Carrozza and the organization! They love children so much and want to find each child a home where they can learn about God and how much He loves them.
Kidist and Liyone have now been with us now for over a year and they are such a blessing! It’s amazing to watch their personalities bloom with love and special attention. When Kidist came home at the age of one, she could barely sit up and the back of her head was flat from being in the orphanage bed too long. Now she is running and marching around singing “The Lord’s Army.” Liyone was such a scared little boy and was afraid to open up and be loved on. He has turned into a smiling, giggly boy that loves to play soccer. The other night he climbed in my lap and said he wanted me to hug him for a long, long time. They are such wonderful kids and I can’t imagine our lives without them! We are very grateful to Sacred Selections for helping us bring these children home.
